The juiciest
Manchester United lost 18 league games – more than Liverpool (4), Arsenal (4) and Manchester City (9) combined. It’s United’s highest number of defeats since they recorded 20 losses and were relegated in the 1973/74 campaign.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur lost 26 matches across all competitions – a new all-time club record (they lost 25 in 1991/92).
Manchester United failed to record consecutive league wins all season – the first time they have done so in the Premier League.
Manchester United endured an eight-match winless run (February-April) – their longest in the Premier League.
As well as now levelling them for total top-flight titles (20), Liverpool finished this Premier League season 42 points ahead of Manchester United – the biggest ever gap in points between the two sides at the end of a top-flight campaign.
(Although Arsenal scored the third most goals in the league), no Arsenal player reached double figures for league goals (Kai Havertz: 9 goals) for the first time since 1923/24 – before the first World Cup (1930) and before shirt numbering was made compulsory (1939). Only Southampton (Paul Onuachu – 4), Manchester United (Amad Diallo – 8 and Bruno Borges Fernandes – 8), Everton (Iliman Ndiaye – 9) and Leicester City (Jamie Vardy – 9) also had no double digit goalscorers.

Leicester City went 826 minutes without scoring a Premier League goal at the King Power Stadium before Vardy smashed the ball into the roof of the net on 3 May. The fans endured a run of nine home matches with nothing to celebrate – a record since the 1888 formation of England’s Football League – while opponents combined for 22 goals.
2024/25 was the first season in history to see five different English clubs win a major trophy.
Cole Palmer (Chelsea) became the first player in Premier League history to score four times before half-time. The goals were scored during a period of 19 minutes and 57 seconds against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge. Since records began in 2006/07, only Jermain Defoe has netted four times in a match over a shorter period of time in the Premier League, timed at 17 minutes and 56 seconds in Tottenham Hotspur’s 9-1 win over Wigan Athletic in November 2009. Palmer and Defoe are among only four players to have scored four or more goals in one half in the competition, with Sergio Aguero doing so on two different occasions. There have been 41 instances of a player scoring four or more goals in a Premier League match.
The average age of Chelsea’s starting XI in the Premier League this season was 24 years and 36 days – the youngest ever by a team in a single campaign in the competition.
Arsenal dropped 21 points from winning positions – their joint-highest total in a Premier League season.
Between 2 November and 1 December, Manchester City lost four Premier League matches in a row for the first time since the 2005/06 season.
Between early November and Boxing Day, Manchester City collected just five points from the 27 on offer, which works out to 0.56 points per game. No team earned fewer points over that span.
That poor run was part of a tally of one win in 13 games in all competitions – both are the worst for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola and the worst in the Spaniard’s managerial career.
However, City’s record after Boxing Day (43 points from 20 games) was only bettered by Liverpool.
City conceded 44 goals – their highest total since 2009/10.
Erling Haaland (Manchester City) became the fastest player to 100 Premier League goal involvements (84 goals, 16 assists in 94 apps).
Tottenham Hotspur lost 22 league games this season, the most ever by a team that avoided relegation in a 38-game Premier League campaign.
Liverpool became just the third side in Premier League history to score in 100% of their away games in a single season after both Arsenal and Manchester United did so in 2001/02.

Premier League record points tallies: the good, the bad and the ugly
The good

Three teams set new all-time Premier League points records for their clubs in 2024/25.
Bournemouth finished the campaign with 56 points – eight more than their previous best of 48, set just last season. That both totals have come under Andoni Iraola is testament to the massive impact he’s had since arriving at the club.
Crystal Palace’s haul of 53 points was four more than their previous Premier League best of 49, a tally they’d hit three times before.
Fulham’s 54-point total edged them past their previous best of 53 from 2008/09.
The bad

For the second season in succession, all three promoted teams went straight back down to the Championship. It’s the first time in the Premier League that this has occurred in back-to-back campaigns. All three set new record club lows for Premier League points tallies. Leicester City’s 25 is three fewer than when suffering relegation in 2001/02, while Ipswich Town’s 22 is five worse than 1994/95.
Tottenham Hotspur, too, recorded their worst ever Premier League points total in 2024/25, falling short of their previous worst by six points as they only managed to accumulate 38. That was only good enough to see them finish 17th, their lowest final position since 1977, when they were relegated from the top flight in 22nd place. In fact, eight teams have been relegated from the Premier League in 38-game seasons with 38 or more points. And yet, Spurs also won their first trophy in 17 years when they lifted the Europa League to ensure they’ll also be in the Champions League next term.
The ugly
Southampton flirted with Derby County’s Premier League record for the worst points total (11 – in 2007/08), finishing with 12 points – 13 fewer than their own previous worst. The Saints set a record for the earliest relegation in Premier League history – 6 April with seven matches left to play. They also became the first Premier League team to lose 30 games in a season.
Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the final day of the season did see them climb a place to 15th. But their previous worst final position in the Premier League was eighth (in 2023-24), while their poorest points total before 2024/25 was 58 in 2021/22. They fell short of that by 16 points this term.
